Rookie Day at Park Shore
Choosing a camp for your child is a big decision. We would love for your child to come “try us out” to make sure we’re the right fit for you and your child!
What is a Rookie Day?
Rookie Day is a one-day program that invites prospective campers to participate with our current campers in the activities, spirit, fun and excitement of Park Shore Country Day Camp and/or Extreme STEAM Science Kids Camp. Your child participates with their counselors and new friends for a power-packed day of activities and fun. Parents drop off their child and have the opportunity to have a complete tour of our campus, meet our staff and speak with our directors.
If your child is ONLY attending the Extreme STEAM morning program, pick up is at 12:50pm after lunch. If your child is attending a full day, pick-up is at 3:30pm. Hot lunch is provided for all Rookies. Extreme STEAM Science Kids Camp is for children completing 1st – 5th grade as of June.

Selecting the right camp for your child is important. Many families find that visiting camp is an invaluable opportunity in deciding on the perfect fit for their family. We would love for you to join us for a visit and experience our warmth, spirit, and tradition while touring all of the state-of-the-art facilities that Park Shore Day Camp and Extreme STEAM Science Kids Camp has to offer. Camp is, for most people, not a one-time experience. The camp you choose for your child now should be the camp that he or she experiences for many years to come. These experiences will help guide your child in their social, emotional, and recreational growth, positively impacting them for many years to come. That is why making the right choice for your child, among so many different choices, is so important. Rookie Day helps make choosing the right camp a little easier by allowing your child to “taste” the camp experience, while giving you, as parents, a close-up look at the facilities, program, supervision, and philosophy while camp is actually in session.
WHAT WILL YOUR CHILD DO AT ROOKIE DAY?
Day Camp Rookies will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at Park Shore Shore such as:
- Sports activities (baseball, soccer, basketball, hockey, tennis & so much more!)
- Swimming (instructional & free swim)
- Arts & Crafts
- Extreme Sports (Bungee, Sky Trail High Ropes Course, Rock Wall)
- NEW ATV Adventure Course
- Performing & Cultural Arts
- Baking & Cooking
- Maker Space (Legos, Gears, PVC Piping, and much more!)
- Hot lunch provided
Extreme STEAM Science Rookies will have the opportunity to participate in:
- Robotics
- Coding
- Earth, Physical & Life Science
- Engineering
- Artistic Design
- The Cave featuring Marine Touch Tanks & Aquariums

Please note that Rookie Days are subject to weather conditions and may need to be rescheduled due to rain or inclement weather. Please confirm with us the day prior to your scheduled Rookie Day if rain is in the forecast.
